DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an amazing sound bath concert as well as for our end of the year party.\n\nPeter Blum and Naaz Hosseini will present a meditative sound bath concert followed by a demonstration of how to use sound in a healing practice and a question and answer period. As a duo\, and (and sometimes trio or quartet\, when joined by Thomas Workman\, Steve Gorn\, or Ev Mann) Peter and Naaz have worked together\, presenting dozens of these sound baths for the past 15 years.\n\n“The keys to this are\, a) listening\, and b) trusting – our own innate musical instincts\, each other\, and the audience\,” continued Blum. “We attempt to tune in during a performance in to the collective unconscious of everyone present\, and to play the sounds that emerge from our mutual dream. We refer to it as a ‘sacred’ soundbath because for us this is akin to universal prayer with our instruments.”\n\n \n\n\nHypnotherapist and sound healer Peter Blum creates a unique meditational environment using large gongs\, bells\, cymbals\, tuning forks\, drums\, tamboura\, flute\, and his collection of dozens of Himalayan singing bowls. Peter has studied music and sound healing with Dr. Karl Berger\, Ustad Jamaluddin Bhartiya\, Beautiful Painted Arrow (Joseph Rael)\, Pauline Oliveros\, John Beaulieu\, and Don Conreaux. He has given workshops and soundhealing concerts at Omega Institute\, Abode of the Message\, Menla Mountain Retreat Center\, The Graduate Institute\, and yoga studios across America.\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nNaaz Hosseini \nNaaz Hosseini is a master vocalist\, violinist\, dancer\, composer\, and psychotherapist. As a multi-disciplinary performer she has Naaz Hosseini appeared world-wide with the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble\, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange\, and the Laura Dean Dancers and Musicians at venues including Carnegie Hall\, Kennedy Center\, Tokyo University\, Walker Art Center\, and the Steirischer Herbst Festival. As composer/performer\, she collaborated with Pilobolus\, the National Theatre of the Deaf\, and Bridgman/Packer Dance. \n\n \n
