DESCRIPTION:How to Be Effective & Loving When It Really Counts\nLife has a beginning – middle – and an end. This timely workshop will focus on the most difficult of conversations\, about saying a last goodbye\, which is more urgent now than ever. \nNo one knows what happens after life. Yet the important days\, months or years leading to a loved one’s final transition can be handled well – or poorly – by both family and practitioners. \nCan we do better? Yes\, we can.\nWe all have loved ones who have passed or are moving in that direction. Maidenberg\, PhD\, MPH\, LCSW-R maintains a private practice in Harrison\, NY. She is also the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of “Thru My Eyes”\, a nonprofit 501c3 organization that offers free clinically-guided videotaping to chronically medically ill individuals who want to leave video legacies for their children and loved ones. Michelle is adjunct faculty at New York University (NYU) teaching a graduate course in Mindfulness Practice. She is a Board of Directors member at The Boys & Girls in Mount Vernon and is a member of the American Red Cross Crisis Team. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Westchester Trauma Network (WTN) in Westchester NY. \nMichelle is the author of the book “Free Your Child From Overeating- 53 Mind-Body Strategies For Lifelong Health”  and anticipates the release of her upcoming book on 9/20/22 “ACE Your Life – Unleash Your Best Self and the Life You Want.”  She is also a blogger for Psychology Today. Michelle is married and has four children and is dedicated and invested in health and mental health advocacy. \n  \n\nCaroline DeFilippo\, MD\, MPH\, FACP is an internal medicine physician and Medical Director of Population Health at CareMount practicing in the same community where she was born and raised. Prior to joining CareMount\, she was in private practice for 5 years and served as an Associate Medical Director at WestMed Medical Group. She is passionate about primary care particularly as it allows for the development of long-term partnerships with patients and their families. She values a comprehensive approach to healthcare. Her professional interests include management of chronic diseases\, serious illness conversations and promoting wellness especially for parents.
