SUMMARY:Can Dementia be prevented\, addressed – and even reversed? Join Us for a Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a lively panel discussion to explore the possibility that Dementia can be prevented\, addressed and and sometimes reversed.\nPLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY\, USING ZOOM.\nWE WILL NOTIFY ALL REGISTRANTS HOW TO LOG ON. \nSharp Again Naturally (SAN) educates and empowers the public and medical community\, helping everyone to take charge of their cognitive health and general wellbeing\, while offering support and resources that help identify\, prevent and reverse memory loss. \nSince SAN’s presentation to KSG five years ago\, the concept of the brain’s neuroplasticity and the idea of treating memory loss has become more acceptable by holistic doctors and some medical practitioners.  SAN continues to monitor research to identify the causes of dementia and how these can be treated and reversed. Our panel will discuss what we have learned and address several of these causes – including our food\, exposure to toxins\, and sleep and breathing issues. \nLearn more at sharpagain.org \n\n\n\n\nAll attendees must reserve in advance.\nAdmission to individual presentations is only $20 per meetings for non-members.\nPLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY\, USING ZOOM.\nWE WILL NOTIFY ALL REGISTRANTS HOW TO LOG ON. \n\n\n\n\n\nAlready a Member? Click here to send us an email to reserve your spot!\n\n\n\n\nSharp Again Naturally Panel Bios\nLisa Feiner\, MBA\, M.Ed.\, CHC  is a certified health and wellness coach\, and co-founder and Chair of Sharp Again Naturally. Over the past 18 years\, she has worked with clients with a wide range of health issues. During the same period\, Lisa has been a board member of The New Jewish Home\, a nonprofit nursing and healthcare system. In 2011\, when she first learned about individuals diagnosed with dementia who recovered their cognition\, it made sense that the rise in Alzheimer’s Disease reflected changes in diet\, lifestyle and the environment.  It was only after SAN was founded that Lisa’s own father was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia. Lisa writes and speaks about the causes of memory loss and how we can all take better care of our bodies and minds to live life well into old age. \n  \nNancy Weiser\, MBA\, CHC is the founder of Weiser Choices and a Vice-Chair of Sharp Again Naturally\, and provides health and wellness coaching for individuals\, executives\, and families. Her holistic approach combines practical\, life-changing nutritional practices with guidance and support relating to exercise\, stress management\, and lifestyle. Nancy turned to SAN when a family member began suffering from cognitive decline. She attended workshops to deepen her training to help her family and her clients. \nNancy has been featured in The New York Times and has made multiple guest appearances on Martha Stewart Living Radio and AM1490 WGCH. Nancy is a featured speaker in the documentary Bought. She speaks to varied audiences including corporate\, parent\, philanthropic\, community and senior groups. \nHoward Hindin\, D.D.S. is trained in all aspects of general dentistry\, with an emphasis on craniofacial pain and sleep dental medicine. An acknowledged pioneer in the relationship between dental issues and whole body health\, he was one of the first dentists to eliminate the use of mercury from his practice.  Dr. Hindin is the co-founder and president of the Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD)\, and the Foundation for Airway Health\, organizations created to prevent the proliferation of chronic disease by raising awareness about airway\, sleep\, and breathing issues. He is also the first dentist elected to the board of the American College for Advancement of Medicine. Dr. Hindin’s participation as a Board member in the vital mission of Sharp Again Naturally furthers his desire to support the importance of collaborative care and the medical-dental connection. He has presented important position papers to dental and medical groups throughout the country\, and his research into the dental – medical connection has shaped the medical community’s understanding of this growing and important field. Learn more about the Hindin Center at hindincenter.com \nMadeleine Castellanos\, MD is a functional medicine physician with a specialty in psychiatry\, practicing for over 20 years.  Dr. Castellanos is a certified physician with the Institute for Functional Medicine as well as certified in the Bredesen Protocol to reverse cognitive decline.  She uses a functional medicine model (systems-based approach) to help patients reduce their inflammation\, improve their metabolism\, reduce their physical and mood symptoms\, and improve their health overall.  She places great emphasis on nutrition\, lifestyle\, and state of mind\, and helps patients understand the connection and synergy of all of these factors.  She currently has practices in New York City and South Florida.
