The Artist & Healer Within with Caren Sacks, Creative Arts Therapist
March 20, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
What is creativity?
Is everyone creative?
Does creativity spark joy?
Can we heal ourselves through creative work?
In this presentation, Art Therapist Caren Sacks will facilitate a discussion and explore the notion of how we are all creative beings. We’ll discover the joys and benefits of art making, and how we can go beyond our own judgements and expectations. We’ll re-envision art making for self-care, self-awareness, self- discovery, as well as for relaxation and just being playful. She will also explain the difference between Art Making with Art Therapy, helping us to develop a deeper understanding the therapeutic aspects of both.
Participants will have an opportunity to try their hand at drawing and tapping into their own well of spontaneity. Absolutely no art making experience or expertise is needed.
If you’d like to experiment, please have blank paper, pencils-variety of colors, pens or markers, any art material handy.
